Join our Crash Workshop in Grant Writing for Documentary Photographers and Visual Storytellers, where you'll master the basics of story descriptions, crafting strong pitches, budgeting for artist grants and competitions. The class will cover fundamental concepts, provide practical tips and share successful writing examples. We will look at examples of specific grant requirements and questions such as: Al Mawred (Cultural Resource), AFAC, PWB Revolutionary Storyteller Grant, Ian Parry Grant etc.

Participants will be expected to be professional photographers who have a body of work that is ready to be pitched for multiple opportunities. They will have the opportunity to share their story pitch, practice writing a sample project description and receive group class critique to refine their work.

Identifies as Arab.
Professional photographer/ storyteller.
Has a body of work that is ready to be pitched.

About the instructor:
Rasha Al Jundi is a Palestinian documentary photographer and visual storyteller. Her work generally follows a social documentary pathway and focuses on colonial links to social, political and cultural themes. She seeks to illustrate stories that she personally connects with. In 2022, Rasha graduated from the Documentary and VisualPhotojournalism program at the International Center for Photography (ICP), New York, and won several grants including the inaugural Tom Stoddart award from the Ian Parry grant (2022) and the Revolutionary Storyteller Grant from Photographers Without Borders (2024). She has designed and produced several zines and has been collaborating with other multidisciplinary artists for different projects. Her work has been exhibited in differentcities including Amman, Beirut, Berlin, Jerusalem, London, New York and Tokyo.
