I am Mohammed Zein, a resident of Jerusalem. Children of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa usually know me by Uncle Zozo.

Mohammed Zein spreads joy

They love this name because with it comes an impersonation that makes them laugh and smile.

I studied at Al-Quds University. I got arrested many times during my years at college, I’ve been severely tortured which caused me 50% sight loss.

Laughter at Al-Aqsa

I use my free time at Al-Aqsa mosque, especially on Eid days I dress as Uncle Zozo and I try making children happy by drawing on their faces and gifting them balloons and gifts. I want a positive picture of Al-Aqsa mosque to be printed in their minds, not only the clashes that occur there.

Joyful performance

My message to everyone reading this is that even though we suffer from the Israeli occupation of our land, we also have times of happiness and feeling alive.
